Professor of Health Economics

Katherine Payne is a Professor of Health Economics at The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on using methods of economic evaluation to understand the economic impact of healthcare interventions and also using survey valuation methods to understand if/how people value healthcare interventions. Katherine works in a number of disease areas but with a specific interest in precision medicine and genomics, including rare disease services. She is also a Principal Investigator for the Manchester BRC Rare Conditions and Next Generation Therapeutics Themes.
