Title: Studying rare conditions using UK primary care electronic health records: past, present and future
Biog: Dr Wright is an early career clinical academic with an interest in using routinely collected population health data to investigate the epidemiology and mental health outcomes of rare conditions, including Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and NF2-related schwannomatosis (NF2-SWN). Dr Wright is a member of the MRCC Academy, Banka Lab, and Spin Lab (Studying Plasticity in Neurodevelopment), and is supervised by a multidisciplinary team of leading academics at the University of Manchester. In this seminar, Tom will reflect on the use of UK primary care electronic health records for rare condition research, highlighting current applications, challenges, and opportunities.
