Title: Neuropsychological Functioning in Children and Adults with Fetal Valproate Spectrum Disorder
Abstract: Prenatal exposure to the antiseizure medication sodium valproate (VPA) can result in Fetal Valproate Spectrum Disorder (FVSD), which is characterised by neurodevelopmental issues including delayed milestone attainment, poorer cognitive skills, and social difficulties. Whether the phenotype evolves across the lifespan, and whether there are functional differences between those exposed to VPA and those diagnosed with FVSD, are unknown.
